In South Rotterdam, various organisations are working on new hybrid places where museum, education & city meet. In doing so, they are closely connected to the relational reality of this area. Instituting Relationality: On innovative ways of working between museum and school is a programme for professionals working in South Rotterdam and beyond who want to contribute to the development of new principles, working methods and structures of institutional partnerships. The gathering is organised by a collaboration between Zuid. Boijmans Van Beuningen, Culture & Campus Putselaan, and Centre of Expertise Social Innovation.

During the program we ask ourselves: What happens when relational practice is taken as a starting point in institutions such as schools, museums and government bodies? What does this new vision mean for the environment of these institutions? And how does this vision influence existing institutional relations when we recognize the value that arises outside these institutions?

With contributions by Monica Narula (Raqs Media Collective), Hicham Khalidi (Jan van Eyck Academy)& Reza Afisina (ruruHaus), Rolando Vázquez (University of Amsterdam), Nasra Djorai (IKBENWIJ), Kaat Debo (MoMu Antwerp), Isabel Awad (Erasmus University Rotterdam), Elizabeth Graham (Serpentine), Mitchel Sam-Sin (De Koepels), Yoeri Meessen, Lisa Heinis (Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen)& Janpier Brands (Culture & Campus Putselaan ) and many others.
